DAY 1 (Saturday) A.M - Arrive at Baltra Airport – Galapagos Islands After flying from Quito for about 2.5 hours (including a stop in Guayaquil), you land at Baltra Island where you will go through immigration, be met by your guide and then escorted to the harbor. A mortorized dinghy, or "panga" will then transfer you to the MV Exclipse where a warm welcome by captain and crew awaits you.
P.M -North Syemour Island North Seymour is a perfect introduction to the Galapagos Islands. Fauna abounds and you will soon find yourself surrounded by sea lions, blue footed boobies, marin iguanas, frigates and more. Difficulty level: Moderate DAY 2 (Sunday)
A.M - South Plaza Island South Plaza Island is home to a large Opuntia cacti forest, land iguanas and one of the largest sea lion colonies in the central region of the archipelago. You will also be able to see Nazca boobies, swallow-tailed gulls, other kinds of sea birds as well as different types of finches. Difficulty level: Moderate P.M - Sante Fe Island Some of Santa Fe's endemic species include the Galapagos Hawk, Galapagos snake, various finches, and the Galapagos Mockingbird. Playful sea lions will usually accompany swimmers and snorkelers during beach time. Difficulty level: Moderate DAY 3 (Monday)
A.M - San Cristobal Island - Punta Pitt Punta Pitt is located on the eastern tip of San Cristobal Island. You will hike up to a plateau where the view and landscape are so spectacular it is definitely worth the effort. You can also enjoy kayaking, snorkeling and panga rides at Punta Pitt. Difficulty level: Moderate to Difficult P.M - San Cristobal Island - Cerro Brujo Enjoy a fantastic landscape as well as wonderful swimming, snorkeling and panga ride experiences. Cerro Brujo's gorgeous beach is also home to many sea lions and is the first place where Charles Darwin first stepped foot on the Archipelago! Difficulty level: Easy to Moderate
DAY 4 (Tuesday)
A.M - Floreana Island - Post Office Bay & The baroness's Viewing Point Post Office Bay is home to a very unique "post office" inspired by 18th century pirates and buccaneers. The Baroness's Viewing Point is the perfect place to take in the special scenery that defines Floreana, and a great spot to learn about the mysteries of Floreana's early settlers. Difficulty level: Easy P.M - Florean Island - Cormorant Point & Champion Islet A great site for bird-watching, Cormorant Point has a large lagoon where everything from Flamingos to stilts and Pintail Ducks tend to roam. Follow this with a fantastic snorkel at Champion islet. Difficulty level: Easy
DAY 5 (Wednesday)
A.M - Isabela Island - Elizabeth Bay Elizabeth Bay is one of the furthest points of the Galapagos that we will visit on our cruise. We will enter a sheltered cove - a wonderful mangrove ecosystem that is a refuge for sea turtles, rays, blue-footed boobies, penguins, herons and more. Difficulty level: Easy P.M - Isabela Island - Moreno Point Moreno Point is located just southwest of Elizabeth Bay and is known for large populations of sea birds which can be appreciated during a dinghy ride along the striking rocky shores or a hike along a path throught lava rock leading to tide pools and mangroves teaming with life. Difficulty level: Moderate to Difficult
DAY 6 (Thursday)
A.M & P.M- Santa Cruz Island - Puerto Ayora Day On your visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station you will gain insight into the great preservation efforts being made by scientists, guides, and rangers. You will see the famous Galapagos tortoises that are the islands' namesake. After the visit we drive to the green highlands of Santa Cruz, where you will search for giant tortoises in their natural surroundings. Difficulty level: Easy to Moderate DAY 7 (Friday)
A.M - Española Island - Gardner Bay Gardner Bay offers the chance to enjoy a wonderful white sandy beach. It is home to one of the most importatn colonies of sea lions, and it is also a nesting site for sea turtles. Enjoy swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. Difficulty level: Easy P.M - Española Island - Punta Suarez Punta Suarez is home to large populations of Nazca & blue-footed boobies as well as th ebeautiful waved albatross (seasonally). The 10,000 to 12,000 pairs of albatrosses on Española represent the entire population of this species on the planet. They perform one of the most spectacular courtship rituals of the animal world. Difficulty level: Difficult
DAY 8 (Saturday)
A.M - Mosquera Islet & Departure This tiny islet is actually home to a huge population of sea lions and is also home to many shorebirds. While at Mosquera, keep your eyes peeled as there are occasional reports of dolphins and orcas. Difficulty level: Easy
You will then be transferred from the yacht to Baltra airport in time to catch your flight back to the mainland.
